Helô Pinheiro foi a musa inspiradora de Tom Jobim e Vinicius de Moraes para a música que projetou a MPB internacionalmente: Garota de Ipanema, interpretada, desde sua composição em 1962 até os dias de hoje, em português, e também em inglês, pelos mais diversos e afamados cantores Internacionais, a exemplo de Frank Sinatra, Cher, Mariza e Madonna, além da banda de rock Sepultura e outros artistas brasileiros. A canção fora ainda objeto de uma versão instrumental para tema do filme Garota de Ipanema, de 1967.

Histórico sobre o coral do CMPA...

  Desde sua criação em 1912, o CMPA teve vários corais, mas sem uma perenidade. Em aguns anos da primeira fase de sua existência (1912 - 1938), o côro foi regido pelo Mestre-de-Música José Joaquim de Andrade Neves (também foi diretor do Conservatório de Música). Já nos últimos anos da fase da Escola Preparatória de Porto Alegre (1939 - 1961) e nos primeiros anos do CMPA segunda fase (1962), o Coral foi regido pela Prof.ª Dinah Neri Pereira, uma das mais famosas maestrinas do Estado. Nesta última fase, quando a Prof.ª Dinah regia conjuntamente os côros da EPPA/CMPA e do Instituto de Educação, uma das meninas que cantava no Coral era Elis Regina.

 

O Coral retornou em meados da década de 90, quando um de seus mais destacados regentes foi o Maestro Adroaldo Cauduro. Nessa época, era composto apenas por profissionais (alguns ainda hoje presentes no CMPA) . Em 1997, os alunos voltaram ao Coral, tornando-o misto, já agora sob a regência do maestro Marcelo Nadruz, até a extinção no final ano de 1998.

 

Finalmente, em 2001, o então Comandante, Cel Luiz Carlos Rodrigues Padilha, por sugestão do Cel Leonardo Araujo, decidiu reativar o Coral, encarregando a 1º Ten Prof.ª Adriana Dess Essarts Trinidad de organizá-lo. Para regente, foi escolhido o Maestro Iuri Corrêa, que até hoje o rege. Com o término do tempo de serviço militar da 1º Ten Adriana, assumiu a 1º Ten Sabrina Araújo Pacheco, que passou a função para a 2º Ten Petúlia Pazine de Oliveira em 2010.

 

O Coral do CMPA já fez apresentações com a Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre - OSPA, bem como já se apresentou em diversas cidades do RS, inclusive participando de eventos com coros de outros países do Cone Sul.
